Pu Luong Treehouse is a secluded retreat composed of delightful dwellings. Perched high among tree tops, even higher than the tree houses that have made our fame, is The Nest. This is a traditional wooden house on stilts fitted with artisanal, handmade furniture. The linen beddings, decorative textiles, and lovely artifacts were collected by Zoom during her trips in the north of Viet Nam. The Nest offers stunning views like no others, including of its private pond and garden overflowing with flowers. It is ideal for a family of four, or two couples. A favorite among our habitues, this is one choice to reserve early!

The main gathering space at PuLuong Treehouse is a rehabilitated Stilt House built in the traditional style of the local Black Thai village and brought back to life with immaculate detail. As you enter the property across a handmade footbridge, locally made bamboo lanterns, accents of local weaving, and the calm sounds of the flowing creek and soft music will welcome you into our Common Area.

In the Common Area on the ground floor of the Stilt House, relax with a book or catch up on email while enjoying our gardens and a 180° view of the Pu Luong valley with its tiered rice paddies, limestone peaks, and villagers going about their daily farm work below. Here you will find our communal table made from two slab of local wood for group meals or a romantic table for two where you can enjoy our organic, locally sourced, authentic Vietnamese cuisine.  If you are so inclined, head over to the adjacent bar serving tea from our 100 year old tea trees, deliciously strong Vietnamese coffee, and a variety of cocktails such as seasonal passion fruit mojitos

Budget-minded travelers can head upstairs inside the Stilt House where they will find an open floor plan and sleep comfortably in the communal way of the Black Thai people. Western-style mattresses are adorned with soft bedding trimmed with Tho Cam weaving and protected by mosquito nets naturally dyed with wild roots. Each sleeping area is privately divided with custom linen curtains. Bamboo reading lamps, power outlets, and lockboxes fulfill the needs of the modern traveler without detracting from this special experience. Guests staying in the Stilt House will have access to their own covered porch to socialize and lounge on traditional Black Thai mats or practice yoga overlooking the same incredible view as the Common Area below.

At the Pu Luong Treehouse even the bathroom facilities have been crafted with care. Conveniently located next to the Stilt House, the bath house is constructed with stone from the land and decorated with local weaving and native plants. Environmentally conscious dual-flush toilets are in private stalls with bamboo doors and natural stone floors. Communal mosaic sinks with bamboo faucets overlook the flower garden. Both showers provide an exceptional experience with energy saving on-demand hot water, full overhead rainwater showerheads, and thoughtful racks for clothing along with shelving for your personal toiletries.

Everything at Pu Luong Treehouse has been selected with the utmost care, from the handmade ceramics and native landscaping to the eco-conscious systems that ensure a minimal impact on the Pu Luong Nature Preserve and its people.

The Pu Luong Treehouse’s namesake and vision that inspired the lodge, these structures are thoroughly modern in their design but constructed using traditional materials and methods by a master Vietnamese bamboo builder. This mix of old and new is exemplified by their thatched roofs, skylights to keep the interior feeling bright and airy, and unique geometric design.  The three treehouses are named after 3 people who have been walking through out this wonderful journey creating this beautiful project.

Approximately 2.5 meters off the ground, the whimsical structures are connected to each other by footbridges and surrounded by nets allowing you to lounge in the treetops. Each private treehouse comfortably sleeps two on luxury western-style mattresses covered in soft custom bedding.  They are the best to enjoy the sights of the rice paddies below.

Guests staying in the treehouses will have access to their own outdoor facilities almost as charmingly quirky as their temporary home in the trees. The open air figure-eight shaped bath house’s curved bamboo walls will provide you with privacy but keep you connected with the natural beauty that surrounds the guesthouse.
